Neonatal Database - SPI
Summary:
SPI (Streamlining Paediatric Information) is a fully functional enterprise wide Neonatal Patient Management System for the
Level 3 or Level 2 hospital nursery. Developed in collaboration with Mercy Hospital for Women, SPI has been designed for
ease of use by nurses, clinicians and administrators with HL7 standard interfacing to other hospital systems. Data captured throughout the patient episode of care is collated to produce a comprehensive and easy to read discharge summary.
Not just a neonatal database, SPI utilises proactive business rules to ensure that data entry is simple and valid.
On our To Do screen, you will be reminded when medications are required or tests need to be ordered. You will also be
reminded to complete data entry that was not essential in the initial admission process. Integrity and accuracy of data is
essential and we aim to meet this requirement without compromising ease of use.
A variety of standard reports are available to assist with medical / nursing handover and discharge planning. Up-to-date
Bed Lists can be produced anytime and once a day the Bed List is automatically saved as an Excel spreadsheet.
The discharge summary is available in formats for the Parents, GP, Maternal Child & Health Nurse and transfer Hospital.
This is a low cost, low maintenance Neonatal management application designed to the highest standards. Forever evolving,
SPI also exports patient data in the file format required by the Australian & New Zealand Neonatal Network study (ANZNN).
SPI is fully supported, comes with a complete data dictionary and can be customised to suit local conditions.
Designed by users for users, SPI will be readily accepted in your hospital.
